Award citation [for his Medal for Courage] Concerning: Lieutenant of State Security [Captain] Lev Moiseyevich Lvovsky, special agent with the NKVD Special Section of the 68th Independent Signal Regiment, 37th Army Nominated for: Medal for Courage 1. Year of birth: 1904 Brief, concrete description of his feat of arms or achievements: Comrade Lev Moiseyevich Lvovsky has been serving in the Patriotic War since June 1941. He has been serving as a special agent with the NKVD Special Section of the 68th Independent Army Signal Regiment. Through his hands-on efforts he helps execute tasks related to providing the command post with timely communications. During the offensive operations of our army, he is always the first to move with the operational outfit to the location where the signal center is established. In February 1943, having received orders from the army commander to deploy the signal center in the village of Ladozhskaya, comrade Lvovsky and a group of signallers from the regiment disregarded the fact that there still were enemy troops in the village, decided to cut around the village with the aim of being the first to enter the settlement in order to set up the signal center in the fastest way possible. Despite the fact that the enemy had destroyed the river crossing to Ladozhskaya, comrade Lvovsky organized the signallers and crawled across the ice, moving the signals equipment to the village of Ladozhskaya. In doing so, the team of signallers was the first to enter Ladozhskaya and while the river-crossing site was arranged, the signal center was equipped. The assignment was accomplished on schedule. Through his daily duties comrade Lvovsky helped establish a healthy morale and a high level of political motivation within the regiment among the men. Comrade L.M. Lvovsky deserves to be awarded the Medal for Courage. Commanding officer of the 68th Independent Signal Regiment Award citation [for his OPW2] 1.
