Sergei Artemyevich Yanin

Order of the Red Banner of Labor nr. 25346 was awarded by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of May 1, 1944 to Sergei Artemyevich Yanin.

Under the Anglo-Soviet Agreement and the Lend-Lease program, the Soviet Union received vast amounts of Allied supplies. Most of the aid was transported via the famous Arctic convoys, which delivered their cargoes to northern ports in the Soviet Union, primarily Arkhangelsk and Murmansk.

The May 1, 1944 decree under which Sergei Yanin was awarded his Order of the Red Banner of Labor decorated 1369 seamen from the Navy and the merchant fleet, dockworkers, railwaymen, builders, and factory workers who had been instrumental in transporting and processing the supplies. 91 men and women were honored with the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, including Sergei Yanin.
