Brief, concrete description of his feat of arms or achievements:

On August 7, 1942, during the fighting near Dinskaya, Golotvin destroyed one enemy automobile and a truck with his machine gun.

At the most precarious moment, when the enemy was surrounding him from all sides, he was able to get out of the encirclement, along with his machine gun. He continued destroying the fascists, during which time he killed up to two platoons of enemy submachine gunners.

Comrade Golotvin put his machine gun across the Kuban River in full working order.

He deserves to be awarded the Order of the Red Star.
