Short, concrete description of his feat of arms or achievements:
Comrade Tsomaya, the commanding officer of the 191st Independent Medical Battalion, possesses
fine organizational skills and knowledge of the medical profession. Owing to his tireless and selfless efforts and
comrade Tsomaya's efficient leadership, the medical battalion always and during all of the Division's combat
operations handles its assignments well.
Despite the great influx of wounded men during the offensive operations the Division conducted
between July 17 and August 30, 1944, all men who were admitted were provided prompt medical assistance and properly
tended to. Faced with a shortage of transport vehicles, comrade Tsomaya still managed to ensure the wounded were
promptly evacuated to a hospital. Wounded soldiers and officers speak of Captain Tsomaya's considerate and attentive
treatment with greatfulness.
For his fine coordinating efforts, his considerate and attentive treatment of the wounded, and for
providing prompt medical assistance, comrade Tsomaya deserves a decoration.
