Through his selfless and diligent efforts, comrade Selegenenko's Therapeutic Section was able to cure 87.7 percent of all admitted horses over the course of the year, with an annual average treatment duration of 25.3 days. In December 1941, upon receiving notification that his only son had been killed in action on the Leningrad Front in combat with the German-fascist invaders, comrade Selegenenko did not slacken his efforts, on the contrary; with even greater dedication he committed himself to his work. In the second half of the year his section cured 93.5 percent of all horses admitted, with an average treatment period of 20.7 days. Comrade Selegenenko fully deserves to be awarded the Medal for Combat Merit.
